Ombre to DipDye

Hey guys!
So here's a little overview on how I went from ombre to coloured dip-dyed hair!! The two colours I ended up selected were violet and fuschia as they seemed to be the best suited to my personality. I was a little hesitant to dye my hair myself, but overall I am super happy with the results! Scroll down to see pictures and little tid bits of how I achieved my new fun and quirky look :)
THE FINISHED RESULT!
Started out with Ombre Hair.
The products you will need:

  • A protective layer (I used a clean garbage bag and cut 3 holes for my head and arms) Also use an old top that you don't mind getting stained on as things are going to get messy!
  • Aluminium Foil
  • Scissors
  • Bleaching Powder and Developer
  • Mixing Bowl and Brush
  • Pink and Purple Hair Dye (Vitality's Hair Colour Plus - Violet and Fuxia)
  • Gloves
  • Mirror
  • Schwarzkopf Perfect Mousse Hair Dye - Black

Measure out where you want the dip dye to start and wrap 2 elastic bands around that spot. I then applied the black hair dye all over the hair above the elastic bands making sure to work that in well for maximum coverage.
Be careful not to get any on your face as it will stain!! lol... I wasn't so fortunate and ended up getting black hair dye all over my face and neck!

After that, I mixed in 60mls of bleaching developer and 2 tablespoons of bleach powder into the bowl and mixed that til it became a nice, creamy consistency. I applied all over the tips (front, back and in between) so that it's an even coverage. This was done so that the colours could appear alot more vibrant and truer to colour.
Leave the black hair dye and bleach in for about an hour, then rinse and blow dry.
Next, apply the purple hair dye first to the top part of the bleached ends, making sure to work that in really well. Wrap that up in foil, leaving a small portion of purple dyed hair out from the foil. This will help the transition from purple to pink look alot more gradual (if you want more of a solid block colour you can go ahead and skip that step) Do the same thing on the other side, and then repeat the same process again with the pink hair dye. Leave the coloured hair dye in for about 45mins (for lighter hair) and up to 2hours (for darker hair) Make sure to check with a hair professional or the description box as different leave-in times can vary depending on the brand that you use.
Rinse out the hair dye, but DO NOT wash until the water runs clear, or else you will end up like i did (as seen in picture above) I had to reapply the colour again...

This is what it looked like after the second application!!

PASTELove

Despite the crisp, morning temperatures and gloomy weather we've been having lately, I managed to convince myself to roll out of bed rather than sleeping in on my day off *cringe* just so I could knock off a few errands I had planned to do.
I have been counting down the days to wish my golden-bronzed locks away and replace them with something far more exciting as I grew a little tired with it (even moreso without my extensions...) and with the popularity of the ombre trend rising, I felt like I needed a change - even though I do love the look of it! So with that being said take a last look of me with my ombre hair as I've decided to spice things up and go coloured dip-dye style.

There's no denying that most girls wouldn't mind spending countless hours perusing through each and every store within a shopping centre, and as tempting as it was, I resisted. Nothing was going to get in the way of my mission - my mind was set to find the perfect colours to dye my hair with.

The Trend: Stiletto Nails (Claw Nails)

Hey Lovelies,
Apologies for being M.I.A for the past week. I haven't really been up to much (other than working) but I have a week off from work which will give me more time to post up blogs and videos on my new YOUTUBE CHANNEL! (check it out if you haven't already, and subscribe! :])
I thought I'd quickly post up a little something for you guys and  also to show off my new claws! YES, I SAID CLAWS!

The Stiletto Nails trend has been quite a hit with the celebrities as of late and although they may look fierce and a little scary, they aren't actually that bad. I took the plunge after seeing countless photos of one of my faves, Rihanna, rocking her tallons in different colours, but many A-list celebrities and fashionistas are also sporting the stiletto nails trend.

Lady Gaga
Rihanna
Beyonce
Katy Perry
 Amber Rose
 Cassie

It's a little hard for me to work with acrylic and gel nails on, but as I have a little break off work I thought I'd treat myself and get them done. Of course, I didn't want to delve straight to the deep end and get super long claws, so I only got short ones but I still think they look pretty amazing! I decided on an ombre inspired look from black to a nude-peach colour with gold glitter and diamante accents throughout the middle and then a black and pink glitter design on my thumbs with large silver diamantes around the edge of the pink triangles.

I absolutely love my new claws!

What are your thoughts on the latest Claw Nail craze? Love or Loathe? Comment below!

"Spotted! Little J(me!) roaming around the Westfield Shopping Centre in Carindale."

Yes folks, today I spent this beautiful (yet verryy chilly)day wandering around the shops and of course managing to burn some hard-earned mon-ey at it as well! I hadn't been proper shopping (meaning NOT window shopping) in a while and seemed to be suffering from "withdrawal symptoms" LOL. I figured I'd treat myself to a little MAC and Benefit AND I finally tracked down a store that stocked "ESSIE" (which was not an easy task!) I've seen several of my favourite youtubers rave on and on about the Essie 'Candy Apple' shade and figured it was next on my hit list simply to see what all the hype was about.
I lost hope after trying to contact all the Price Attack stores and also Hairhouse Warehouses, as I heard a few of them stocked the Essie brand, but none that had the illustrious 'Candy Apple' available for purchase.
As a last resort, I turned to good old google and found an old forum in which someone mentioned that the Myer at Carindale sold "Essie". I immediately called them up and to my surprise they had one left! Long story short, I went in to pick it up and came out with 5 more as there was a 30% off sale on full priced items and some that had been reduced to half price (SCORE!)
Here's a little preview of my OOTD (nice and rugged up), my FOTD and also my goodies! Enjoy!
